How we can support your school
Chestnut Infrastructure
Chestnut Infrastructure was born in 2021 by Daniell and James, two local authority IT technicians who were on a mission to bring back trust, transparency, and genuinely helpful ICT support to the schools of Worcestershire.
Fast forward to today, and that small idea has grown into the region’s leading education ICT provider. We now support over 90 schools, employ a team of 20+ amazing humans, and deliver full-spectrum ICT services across three counties. All from a business that started in the back of a garage.
Why schools choose us
We understand schools – the pressures, the budgets, the mission to give kids the best shot at learning. Every member of our team is local, passionate and skilled. We offer real support from real people who actually care.
We’re here to make ICT one less thing for you to worry about.
Building lasting relationships
We’re not just about fixing things when they break. We’re about building lasting relationships, spotting future needs, and helping schools stay one step ahead in a fast-moving digital world.
But don’t take our word for it – ask the schools we work with. They’ll tell you everything you need to know.

FAQ
Who do you work with?
We specialise exclusively in the education sector, supporting primary schools, specialist settings, PRUs, and multi-academy trusts. Everything we do is designed around the realities of running a school.
What services do you provide?
We offer fully managed IT support alongside infrastructure design and delivery, including:
- Managed IT & support contracts
- Wireless networks & switching
- Broadband, filtering & safeguarding
- VoIP & telephony
- Structured cabling & fibre
- Audio-visual & classroom technology
- Strategic IT planning
Schools can use us for one project or as their long-term IT partner.
Do you replace our existing ICT provider?
That’s entirely up to you.
Some schools move everything across to us, while others use Chestnut alongside an existing provider for specific projects like Wi-Fi upgrades, VoIP, or long-term IT strategy planning.
We’re happy to work collaboratively where it makes sense.
Are you local to Worcestershire?
Yes, and that’s deliberate.
We’re a Worcestershire-based team supporting schools across the Midlands. Being local means faster response times, familiar engineers, and support from people who actually understand your school.
How do your support contracts work?
Our support agreements are clear and built for schools, no hidden extras or surprise invoices.
They typically include:
- Helpdesk & remote support
- On-site support
- Proactive monitoring & maintenance
- Strategic advice and planning
We’ll always explain exactly what’s included before you commit.
Can you help us plan our IT long-term?
Absolutely, this is one of our strengths.
We work with schools to create clear, multi-year IT roadmaps covering things like Wi-Fi refresh cycles, server replacement, classroom technology, and budgeting, so you’re not constantly firefighting or reacting to failures.
Do you understand safeguarding and compliance?
Yes. Safeguarding, data protection, and resilience are central to everything we design and support.
We regularly work with:
- Filtering & monitoring systems
- DfE and Ofsted expectations
- Secure network design
- Backup, resilience, and disaster recovery
And we explain it all in plain English, no tech waffle.
How do we get started?
It all starts with a conversation.
We’ll usually arrange a no-obligation discussion or site visit to understand your current setup, challenges, and priorities. From there, we’ll recommend practical, cost-effective next steps.
